After L.U.S.T. chairman Gary Cooper's call at our public meeting for the club to release an update to its fans, we were delighted when Leeds United confirmed on Tuesday that it has entered into a period of exclusivity with an investor, and that due diligence is currently underway. We would like to thank the club for sharing this news with supporters who have been desperate for information throughout this process. We hope that with negotiations at an advanced stage more positive news will come soon from the club. At an important time not just for Leeds United but, by extension, for the city of Leeds as a whole, we were also pleased to hear from the Leader of Leeds City Council, Keith Wakefield, who tweeted this week: "Encouraging news coming out of Elland Road, hopefully the club will soon get the investment it needs and deserves ... Think @lufctrust deserve great credit for how they've conducted themselves re takeover. Hope new owners have fan representation on Board." Our Vision Statement emphasises how important it is that Leeds United builds good relationships within the city it represents. A successful Leeds United would be a great advert and a morale boost for our city, and could create big benefits for local businesses and local people. Leeds United's statements on the current negotiations have emphasised that they will find the best deal possible for the long term future of the club, and a many Leeds companies rely on the football club for a large part of their business, we hope that they can share in that future. Councillor Wakefield's support helps us to work towards our ambition of bringing the football club, the council, the fans and the city all much closer together. L.U.S.T. are hopeful that we will all soon hear positive news from Elland Road, and that we can look forward to the fans, the city, and local businesses enjoying a mutually beneficial relationship with Leeds United. --- L.U.S.T. members are encouraged to keep sending their views to us, either by email to chairman@lufctrust.org, or via our blog, Facebook, or Twitter. L.U.S.T. is here to represent the views of Leeds fans, and we want to hear your thoughts and opinions. If you’re not yet a member, you can join more than 6,000 other Leeds fans and make your voice heard as part of the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust. Just fill in the form at www.lufctrust.org. Membership is free. Keep checking for updates on www.lufctrust.org, and our Facebook and Twitter pages. |

No i agree , but we are just pointing out we were as good as any other teamn in that period , but tbh no team did dominate, between 65/75 i dont remember all of those years but remember the latter in fact in 72, we werrte discribed as possibly the finest team ever (at that point) our 72 team IMHO, was better than 73/4 who were on their last legs, then again if Giles had got managers job in 74 we would have dominated for years IMHO
They were different days. Less money. Only one substitute allowed. It's hard for people familiar with the modern game to think what an achievement it was to finish in the top four every year for 10 years. You couldn't buy success back then. |

Latest from L.U.S.T Quote:
Over the last few days, Leeds United Supporters' Trust have been deluged with questions and comments from Leeds fans, all wanting news and updates about the ongoing takeover at Elland Road.
L.U.S.T. is committed to maintaining an open and honest dialogue with our 7,000 members, and with the Leeds United fan base in general. We are available via email, Twitter, Facebook, on forums, and at our regular public meetings. We do everything we can to reply to everyone who has a question or a comment for us, but the level of interest of late has made it next to impossible to answer everybody who wants to have the latest news. Our social media accounts are run by volunteer members of the L.U.S.T. board, and despite their stoic efforts in recent days and weeks - for which we'd like to publicly record our thanks - it isn't possible for them to individually answer everybody who contacts us. There are certain questions being repeatedly asked that we simply cannot give an answer to. Any announcement about who is involved in negotiations, or when such negotiations will be complete, will come from either Leeds United, or from the "potential investor" that the club announced on 26th June had been granted an exclusivity period while due diligence takes place. At the moment, both sides are prevented from making comments by a confidentiality clause, and we have to respect their right to conduct the negotiations as they see fit. Due diligence can be a long process, and trying to predict how long this might take will be difficult even for those closest to the deal. At L.U.S.T. we have tried to respond to fans with what we feel are realistic estimates for time-frames, but the only concrete news will come when the club or the investor chooses to announce it. We understand and sympathise with the desire for information that is so obviously dominating the thoughts of many Leeds fans. We all want to see a swift conclusion to this situation, so that we can concentrate our energies on what we hope will be a bright future for Leeds United. We hope that the club and its potential investor will be as open with the fans as they can, as soon as they can, while still keeping the conditions in place which will allow them to successfully complete the deal. We would ask all Leeds fans to remember, though, that no answer we can give you will bring the takeover to a conclusion any sooner. The latest known information is that given in the club's statement of 26th June: the club are negotiating exclusively with a potential investor, who are undertaking due diligence at the moment, and a confidentiality clause is in place. We will not have any more definite information than this until the club and its potential investor decide to release that information. At L.U.S.T., we will continue to do all we can to build an ambitious and successful Leeds United for the future, and we hope that Leeds fans will not have to wait too much longer to hear a positive update. We urge you all, in the meantime, to stand together and be patient until there is news to hear. |

Latest rumours do all seem to suggest a member of the Bahrain royal family is involved in this, but exactly which one seems unclear.
![]() There have been previous reports of the family being linked to the club so it would make sense - Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa was linked with a bid for us in 2003 and is apparently a lifelong Leeds fan having been educated in England. |

I suppose he would have been QPR manager at the time so there's always the chance he might be called as a character witness or because he was there on the day of the incident.
Just as long as it doesnt distract him too much from getting all these new players lined up ready for when the takeover goes through! |

Signing of Paddy Kenny expected to be announced today, good Championship keeper.
No idea what's going on with this takeover but it seems we've already spent more this summer than at any other time in the last 7 years, so somethings definitely changed behind the scenes! |

Aye our defence/back 5 is actually shaping up quite nicely at the moment; Kenny, Pearce and Drury should all be improvements on what we had last season. Just need a decent rightback now, and apparently we're still after Lee Peltier from Leicester who would again probably be an improvement over what we had last season.
Still a lot of work to do on the midfield, with Clayton leaving and doubts as to whether Snoddy will stay we probably still need about 3-4 midfielders/wingers to come in... |

Meanwhile ........
Adam Pope @APOPEY #lufc Bahrain IAA added: "This is strictly a private deal & has nothing to do with any official department of the government." @BBCLeeds Adam Pope @APOPEY Bahrain IAA now say."It may be correct the person in question is involved in a takeover bid for the club with financial investors." #lufcAdam Pope @APOPEY An interesting development in the proposed takeover or major investment at #lufc by Bahrain Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al-Khlaifa. |

Hope it's sooner rather than later & hopefully we can offer Snoddy a new contract.
Jamaican midfielder Rodolf Austin can also be joining the new owners in the next few days http://mobile.leedsunited.com/defaul...ay&aid=2852557 |

Apparently we've now agreed a fee for Rodolf Austin so should hopefully be joining soon. Looks like he should be a good addition from what I've seen (which is probably the same youtube clips as everyone else
)Also good to see Aidy White has now signed a new 3 year contract. So even if nothings been announced about this takeover, somethings definitely changed behind the scenes. But we need quite a few new players still to come in, I went to the friendly against Farsley Celtic on Friday night and we only had 13 first team players available, the rest were youth team players. Apparently Warnock has been saying we need 8 players, sounds about right! |

Good to see we seem to have made some real progress in the last few days in building up the squad, with Aidy White signing a new contract and 4 other new signings since Friday it's just surprising that all this is happening yet still no announcement on the takeover.
Could still do with a few real quality signings (and a new contract for Snoddy) if we're serious about promotion but maybe these will come after the announcement on the new owners is made.
