Here we go , we have 8 matches and almost 2 months before the Chelsea game and already the press are at it, nobody hates them more than me for lots of reasons , but lets for get about them and concentrate on our job in hand before worrying about them
Thats Tonight, then Burnley, Watford, Palace, leicester Millwall, Huddersfield Ipswich & Derby , before the Russian mafia arrive

We have had some terrible results at Elland Road in the past couple of years. This is what happens when you run a club on selling decent players and replacing them with loans aka 'The Bates model'.

![]() Least it wasn't against a Millwall or Cardiff. Bit unfortunate for you guys to lose the player with a broken leg after Warnock had been quite bold in making 3 changes at half time... At least we took advantage though and scored some goals as we have the quality but don't take the chances. Sounded like they were cracking ones as well. Made quite a few changes to the side so Zola is clearly giving most of the rather large squad a chance! |

From the Skyspots.com site. Quote:
GFH Capital are closing in on their takeover of Leeds United after agreeing a deal with the Championship club.
The Bahrain-based investment bank have been in talks with chairman Ken Bates for a number of weeks, with the club saying a deal could be announced soon. The Yorkshire side confirmed on Thursday they have finally come to an agreement and the relevant documents are being sent to the Football League for ratification. A club statement read: "GFH Capital have announced that they are in exclusive negotiations with Leeds United in respect of the proposed acquisition of the club. "The relevant agreements are being processed by the respective legal teams and information supplied to the Football League as required under their regulations." Ex-Chelsea chairman Bates, 80, took control of Leeds in 2005, but has become increasingly unpopular with a growing number of fans due to a perceived lack of investment in the playing squad. In April of last year Bates announced he had bought a controlling 72.85% stake of the club's shares from a Geneva-based company. |

Form means nothing in the championship as every team is capable of beating everyone else. I am still unsure if GFH are buying Leeds or are they acting on someones behalf. ........either way, it cant get worse than it is right now.

Apparently GFH have been supporting Leeds for months, like all Leeds fans I'm just glad it's almost all over and I hope that GFH do what they say and start putting money in to the team instead of Bates pouring money in to things of the field.

Yep glad this takeover saga is finally over, rumour seems to be that GFH have at least one "very wealthy" backer so will be interesting to see what happens in the January transfer window.
I see we've managed to bring in a couple of players on loan today as well - Jerome Thomas (midfielder) from West Brom and Alan Tate (central defender) from Swansea. Hopefully Thomas will provide some pace/creativity in attack which we've been sorely lacking. |

Didn't go today but listened to it online and it sounded like a much improved performance, seems Thomas and Tate both had good debuts and Byram yet again had a great game, kept Zaha very quiet. Also seems the whole atmosphere and feeling around the club is a lot more positive after getting this takeover finally sorted.
Interesting that Warnock said after the game that it was the new owners who managed to sort out the deal to get Thomas in, signs already that they are making a difference! |

How did Alan Tate get on today? He's a legend down here, so I'm glad he's able to get some games.

I hope today is the turning point in our season & we go on a Reading-esque run now that the takeover situation appears to be sorted out £ hopefully some investment in January

I was saying to my brother yesterday that we would win today. Just read that we were 2/1 to win - not bad.

![]() Which makes a nice change from our usual central defenders who tend to just hoof the ball forwards - will be interesting to see if he keeps his place when both our usual first choice defenders are both available as one of em (Pearce) is currently serving a suspension. |
