Good win against Boro. Hopefully we can get a win against Forest and start to push for a play-off place.
Becchio is now in the top ten of league scorers for the club ... 1. Peter Lorimer - 168 2. John Charles - 153 3. Tom Jennings - 112 4. Allan Clarke - 110 5. Charlie Keetley - 108 6. Billy Bremner - 90 7. Russell Wainscoat - 87 8. Johnny Giles - 87 9. Mick Jones - 77 10. Luciano Becchio - 75 As for 'all competition top scorers' he is currently joint 11th with Beckford. Top scorer since the Revie era

Becchio is on fire at the moment, good to see somma back as well, as for spending in January I would like us to keep Tate and Thomas if not on a permanent contract then at least on loan.

I'd agree it would be good to keep Tate and Thomas at least on loan, they've both been a big part of why results have improved in the last 5-6 games.
January will be interesting just to see how much cash GFH are prepared to spend - on the one hand they say they won't spend "crazy money" but also say that they are aware of the need for investment to push for promotion and are in a position to provide it. Still wondering who is really behind them, buying a football club is a very strange thing for an investment bank to do unless they are acting for particular investors behind the scenes. |

On the plus side, I'll probably go to the replay as I live 2 miles from St Andrews!

Also, attendance of just over 11,000 today which has to be the lowest attendance for a 3pm Saturday kick off at Elland Road in many years. These new owners really need to do something in the January window to generate a bit of enthusiasm amongst the fans, 8 years of Bates has certainly taken its toll.
(Apparently people were singing "we sit where we want, we sit where we want, Elland Road's empty, we sit where we want" today. )

Terrible away performance today, playing with 4 central midfielders meant no width, Barnsley could easily close us down when we got the ball, no options out wide to create space, could barely string 2 passes together. Ross Barkley was the only player who showed any real quality, purpose or desire, which is a pretty damning indictment on the rest of the team.
It also seems today was the day that the fans turned on Warnock, we've had similar terrible performances in the last 2 away games but today was the first time I'd heard chants of "Warnock, time to go" from most of the away support. |

Doing something about the ticket prices might help. I was going to hitch a ride on the Bristol City supporters coach for next weeks game as I've never been to Elland Road. The £34 ticket price made me think better of it.
It's the reason I basically only do away games these days, and I dont think I'm the only one - our home attendances have dropped dramatically compared to our first season back in the Championship 2 years ago. |

The club just isn't moving forwards, and hasn't been for a long time now. We have wasted so many seasons now by purchasing over-the-hill players and selling our best players for a pittance.

. Something tells me the new owners are just mouth pieces for Bates, I think he's screwing us over again. |
