Excellent performance by the team against Watford. Never the less, the team will probably look quite different come the first game of the next season. We ended up finishing 13th, I guess it could have been much worse!

I am optimistic for the new season as BMD is saying all the right things regarding Thorpe Arch etc. |

We done well considering Diouf, Byram and Austin were all out, it was nice to see our defenders putting their body on the line in a match that meant nothing in terms of league position.

I used to watch him play for my local team Livingston, I was delighted when Leeds signed him as I knew what he could do.
Another lad from Livingston, Leigh Griffiths, would be a great buy for us but there's a few team sniffing about him, could get him for about £1million & he'd bang them in Still a player that I think Leeds should show interest in as he's on loan at Hibs from Wolves & I don't know if he'll be going back there |

There are at least slightly encouraging signs that our pool of potential signings might extend beyond players who either used to play for Warnock or who he liked the look of about 10 years ago!
But yeah, McDermott has shown in the past he's got an eye for a player, and if they're cheap then that suits us even better.

Byram has pulled out of the u20 with "injury" he got against Brighton, the more I hear the words "byram. Injured" the conspiracy theories grow

I think BMD knows what hes doing, I like his honesty and hope he was giving promises about a decent transfer budget, why else would he join Leeds ? He would not have been out of work for too long.

yet another day of shambles in the soap opera that is lufc
morrison says he isn't going anywhere and is looking forward to pre season training , bmd then says he is surplus to requirements and it would be better if he tried to look elsewhere , then lo and behold millwall ask if he wanted to return on loan but they cant afford his 17k pw salary , so deal is done to free up funds for noel hunt , expect more outs than inns, so to sum up we have lost our top scorer (becchio) for nothing and his replacement is on loan at millwall oh and we are paying half (at lea\st) his wages yeah neil we defintaly got better deal ![]() http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.u...ites-1-5796144 http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.u...ated-1-5808005 two articles in 2 days , so who do we believe |

Well was first pre-seaon friendly today, beat Farsley 5-0 with goals from Poleon, Matt Smith (2 headers, at 6'6" the guy is quite handy in the air!), Noel Hunt and Aidy White.
Obviously can't read too much in to a game like this but it was encouraging that we played the ball from the back and it looked like we were trying to put passing moves together, compared to last season when even in the pre-season friendlies the centre halves were clearly under instructions to just hoof the ball forward whenever they got it. Also we still have no wingers but played a 4-3-3 today, with McCormack playing behind the strikers in the first half (and looking really good in that position) and Aidy White in the 2nd half, and relying on the full backs getting forward to provide width. Will be interesting to see if BMD keeps this sort of system or if he signs some wide players instead. BMD apparently said after the game that he was still working on bringing players in, with one potential key signing that he's been working on for a while likely to be resolved one way or the other within the next 48 hours... It's great to have some football back anyway!
