Hi folks

I'd be really grateful if someone could help out with this. I'm sure it's probably just something I'm missing, but I'm not sure.

Background:

I have a 24inch widescreen Maxim TV. I've had it for two years with no problems.

Normally, when I watch TV I have to flip the mode the view is in every now and again. I do this by hitting the '16:9' button.

There are several view modes: 4:3, 16:9, cinema etc.

Problem:

Today I switched the TV off at the plug.

On switching it back on - it is stuck in Cinema mode. When I hit the 16:9 button on the remote to fix this - it toggles between 4:3 and 16:9 (or at least it says '4:3' etc on the screen) but this makes no difference whatsoever to the picture on the screen.

The 'cinema' mode (which I think it is currently in - a really annoying long letterbox type with about 1/5th of the screen missing at the top and the bottom) is very frustrating.

I'm sure there's probably a way to reset the TV and/or fix this problem but I have no idea how to do this. I have tried switching it on and off.

Can anyone suggest anything? I'd greatly appreciate it!

I don't know the set but I'm thinking that it may have reset to factory settings. The channels may be saved but the rest need to be reset up. Try going to the set menu and see what, if you know, has changed. Or set it up as you wish as if you are using it for the first time, ie auto for picture format and see what happens. Some settings are volatile, by that I mean that if you unplug from the mains it quickly looses those settings. If this doesn't help please ask again I know someone more in the know may be able to help
