Well, it's up to you isn't it? You wouldn't have bought the 80gb iPod if you didn't feel it was right for you...
Personally, I wouldn't have gone with a 3rd party charger, just because I don't trust them. If it malfunctions and kills your iPod, you have no safety net. The Apple ones are overpriced but at least they're guaranteed. I've had the same one for 4 years. |

Are you likely to fill up an 80gb one? If not then you've done the right thing. If you're likely to need more than 80gb then you've made the wrong decision. Is that not obvious?
Why are you wondering this now rather than before you bought them? |

As the guys said if you aren't anywhere near filling up the 80gb then yes it is a fantastic purchase. I have a third party charger which cost less than that and it has been perfect for me so I wouldn't worry about that |

It uses a USB cable to charge/sync with itunes. Personally I wouldn't bother getting a plug-in charger, I never use mine, I just charge it on the computer.
It doesn't come with a screen protector. Surely these should be things you research prior to buying? |

i'm sure theres an equivalent of invisible shield in the uk.
the stuff is good. bestskinsever is the alternative store here in the us for cheap diy sheets for just the screen... i use silicon case for the rest. bump protection and general stickiness means it won't slide off surfaces easily or fall from grip. and wet apply screen film is stronger and more clear... the invisible shield type stuff is either helicopter blade or bumper film depending onwhos marketing you believe. it drys to super clear over a week and is better than any case that puts a separate sheet of plastic over the screen. no dust/lint gets between and its good to see no barrier distance between the screen. you didn't link to the case, you double linked to the ipod btw. |

But seriously, I'd echo the comments above about the 3rd party iPod chargers - I had one that looked very similar to the above, and it was a lot of trouble. You're best off either getting an official Apple one, or something like this. |

I thought I read somewhere that Apple have phased out the older external chargers and replaced them with these.

80GB is still a heck of a lot of music / video's
Ive had an 80 one for about 2 years and its still only about a quater full. I think you'd have to have LOADS of music to warrent needing the 160 |

Can someone give me a guide on how to import songs onto my Ipod using itunes
Heres what I did and it went wrong I plugged 1 end of my ipod cable into my USB on my PC and the other end into my Ipod. It started docking then automatically it opened itunes. I then coppied all my music from my SD Card on my PDA to the Desktop of my PC. Once in the itunes software dragged and dropped the files from the desktop to itunes (which coppied them successfully) I then deleted my files from the dektop and my SD card on my PDA. I dissconnected my ipod in the normal way by the itunes ejeect button. I then connected my ipod again and went to the music I just coppied to listen to it via itunes but I got an error telling me The file cannot be found. Can anyone help Craig |

EDIT: I've just re-read your post again and have realised your issue. You can only play music through itunes that is on your computer. You've deleted all the files. |

.... yup.
And if you have it set to auto-sync, will it now have deleted them from your iPod as well? If it has .... I hope you have a backup somewhere! This could be a very loooooooooong thread .....

Hi mate, this is my advice on what you should do.......
You need to start again, (cause it sounds like auto syn has deleted them off your ipod) Before you start, click on [your name]'s IPOD, and tick the box that says "manually manage music and video on this ipod" That way, it wont delete music off your ipod, everytime you want to delete something off your itunes pc libary. It simply lets you drag and drop the files you want to have on your ipod. the same way you would on any other mp3 player. |

once you've transfered them to the ipod properly, you will of course be able to listen to them while its disconnected from the PC
