Easy Direct Marketing claiming to be o2
Captain W

Has anyone been cold called by a company claiming to be o2 at the end of their contract, to find it wasn't o2 at all and was a company re-selling for three called EASY DIRECT MARKETING?

This company called my Mum, knowing she was at the end of her 18 month contract - fair enough, o2 may have sold the details on, but my Mum wasn't to know this - my Mum believed it was o2 calling to offer her an upgrade of her phone and paid them £9.99 for the privelage, only to find once I had seen the info they sent with it that she had been conned into setting up a brand new deal with this company instead. This company has so far been very unprofessional in dealing with the complaint and think they have done nothing wrong. They, YES you're reading this right now want to charge my Mum £30 to cancel the contract!!

Does anyone have any knowledge or know of any more stories concerning this company and to what level you had to take it to, for them to take the complaint seriously?

Any help would be much appreciated ... ... ...

Contact O2. They're very vigiliant when it comes to suing groups like this.

Thanks prking, I've already PM'd him and seeing as his investigation is complete and this is a different matter, that's why I started this thread.

The complaint was lodged to o2 the other day and we're still waiting on answer back from a Manager - meanwhile, the 3 contract this 'organisation' were selling have been in touch and we've lodged the complaint with them also - let's see where it gets us.

Thanks folks
