Ci Common Interface Cam

Hi. I have the samsung LE37R88 tv, ive noticed i have a slot for a CI CAM card on the side of the tv. What exactly is this for, can i buy say a cable card of sky card for premium channels etc?.

It's there as it's a regulatory condition imposed by the EU.

It's primary use in the UK market is for DTT PAY services, it's pretty useless for cable or satellite lacking tuners for either.

Be aware the DTT service is different to the Dsat service.
