When Curly and Emma were driving off, it was raining.

Seconds later, there were stars in the sky and a giant moon.

Surely it would either be a clear night or a cloudy, rainy night but not both?

Also, in the Cafe, Hayley waddles in saying "are you still cleaning up at this hour?" - implying its late at night.

But its daylight outside!

I think they gave Curly a BIG send off with the stars and the moon since his love of astronomy....

And there was a full moon in Coronation Street, whereas the moon at the moment is a very new one! If they wanted to do a shot of the moon, they should have stalled Curly's leaving for a week or so

I thought it a bit daft of the ITV1 announcer to say immediately before the second episode "now, will he stay or will he go?" when Curly's leaving the Street was splashed all over the national press weeks ago

Also, did anyone else notice at the end of last night's epsiode, the moon & stars looked VERY fake (which is mostly owned to the fact they made the stars twinkle)?

Yeah it stuck out a mile, but they edit a lot of the show like the Tram going past on the viaduct and they also edit the buildings out of the exterior shots like the Granada one is it? Thats behind where the health centre is and others

The Granada building is actually behind the Rovers.

Another mistake, there was an outdoor scene with a character on the doorstep (probably Curly or Emma) and then they finished speaking and in the distance you could see Tyrone's dog just stick its nose around the corner, then it cut to Tyrone and his dog and they were half way down the street! Tsk! :P

The stars probably were fake... its due to how hard it is to capture bright and dim objects in the same shot, basically the lighting would have been adjusted to show the characters and surroundings (i didn't see it, but i can imagine the scene), so the stars in the sky would not have been visible on the captured film... so they would have been added in during post production....

Oh - This is the same reason there are no stars in the footage brought back from the moon by the apollo astronauts...for all you conspiracy theorists out there!

That might well be true, but the fakeness is due to the twinkling effect- looked like a set of Christmas lights.

Theres no question about it! They WERE fake!

Especially in an industrial area like Weatherfield, where the light pollution would be great!

plus real stars don't twinkle like that!
