Infrared link

I will soon have a new Sagem My-X6 and was wondering how I actually connect it up to my computer.

How does the infrared work, and do I need to buy an infrared port or something to plug into my PC? If so, where can I get one, and how much is it?

Thanks.

Unless your computer has an Infrared port (some laptops do but not all) you'll need a USB infrared adaptor, fairly cheap, try Maplins or somewhere like that. Then a new icon will appear in Control Panel called Wireless Link (assuming you use XP)...

I don't know the Sagem but to beam stuff from the phone to the PC you'll have to make sure the PCs Wireless Link settings are set to enable recieving of data then align the infrared ports and then start the data transmission on the phone (by choosing Send via Infrared or equivelent command on whatever item you happen to want to send...)

you could justget a normal data cable. i got mine from www.sagem-online.com , but they are about £20, so you would probably be better off trying sumwhere else.
