Branston pickle
What do you use it on?
I love having it on crackers with cheese, lovely. Used to hate the stuff. |

It's one of the few mass-market brand names that has no serious competitors. If you like pickle there's nothing quite like it, and all the pretentious Mrs Miggins' ale-and-oak-smoked-parsnip-conserve-with-cyder-vinegar type posh versions taste much worse.
It's good under the cheese in cheese-on-toast. |

I can't think of anything other than cheese to accompany Branston pickle, except maybe cold meats - and definitely with bread of the crusty variety.

Works well with a sausage roll, or with a mutton pie.

Pan Yan was odd. Not exactly unpleasant but the flavour was strange and unexpected.

Very true, I've tried posh ones including at the bbc good food show - nothing comes close to it. |

I like it on cheese sarnies, but i recently bought the squeezy thin stuff (minus lumps) and i hated it. When i squeezed it out, it resembled a dog turd !!!!
So now i just buy the lumpy one. |

I always buy the small chunks type of Branston Pickle as I don't like the large chunks.

Mix the Branstons with some coleslaw and put it in a cheese sandwich. You'll never look back.
