Think you have just got to give BT a call and ask them to remove it and make you ex-directory.

I think you will be removed from the online phone book immediately but obviously, you will have to wait for the next publication of the phone book for your local area before you will notice that your number is no longer listed in there.

I don't know if this still applies, but I had to pay to have it removed, or rather not included, as it has always been unlisted.

Strange, never heard anyone having to pay to not have number in the book.

...or your telephone service provider if not a BT line rental customer.

Don't forget that there are two types of 'unlisted' phone numbers.

You can be 'ex-directory', which means out of the book and no-one will be given your number by Directory Enquiries, or 'Unlisted' which just means out of the book, with Directory Enquiries giving out your number.

You select which is best for you. There is NO charge for either of these, at least not from BT.
