Recommend a new handset upgrade

My employers have moved their mobile contract to Vodaphone. I am awaiting my new handset but I just know it will be low spec and the size of a small planet . Can someone recommend a value for money handset ( unlocked ) that I can buy as PAYT and simply swap the payt Sim out for my business contract Sim...looking for slim, reasonably trendy !, polyphonic ring tones and picture messaging...oh and a camera.

If you have £70 to spend , consider the K800i and although locked its on Vodafone

What is your budget ?

The lower end £36

I own one of these as a spare

I'll know tomorrow but am anticipating ( based on previous history ) something thats not exactly cutting edge...plus they are distributing refurbs so won't be a newer model - not sure that I want a used handset !

I'd recommend the N73 on tmobile which I believe is sub-£100 at the moment. It's not far off the same spec as the excellent N95 and the camera is 3.2mp and very good.

You want to be able to use it on vodafone so if you bought one of these you can use any SIM card in it. £22 is pretty good and some indy phone shops and market stalls sell the chip for about £15, I know of a few who do.

pretty much reiterating cooperman

the best option is to get a Vodafone Prepay phone as its cheaper, and swap out the sims:

check out the phones there, you can also go unlocked but its more expensive:

e.g. Sony Ericsson K800i vodafone pay&go - £70
Sony Ericsson K800i SIM FREE - £120

that just under double and they will both work for your situation.
