Do you think that o2 customers will be rewarded the same as with the 3g iphone?

In that they will be able to upgrade early as I thought that was a really good idea?

O2 iPhone customers can upgrade now. Non iPhone customers have to wait till end of contract.

I doubt it, the iPhone seems to be given special treatment from other phones, you cant even get a good deal on it, there's no competitive pricing between networks, that's the biggest drawback of the phone. err anyway the original iPhones were not subsidised by o2 so essentially they were paying for £30+pm for crappier versions of the 30day rolling contracts so that's why (I think) they are willing to allow the upgrade.

I know I upgraded my old iphone, I just liked the fact that I could upgrade again.
