ALW just said an IDA girl was cast as Sally Bowles!
okay, i missed who he was talking about from IDA, but he was talking to the two finalists of HDYSAPLM Canada just now.
now, i think the third place finisher of IDA is now Nancy Bowles, so that would mean Sam? I would have thought Rachel! |

It's definitely Sam. It's been announced on other websites.

Yup, Sam's been cast as Sally Bowles. Apparently both Rachel and Jessie rejected the roles when it was offered to them...

It is Sam! Its a touring production!!
I am looking forward to going to see it, and I can imagine her in the role more than I could imagine Jessie!! |

oh, A Webb, as been dubbed by Canadian host (lol) didn't say it was a touring production. made it sound like the west end which is what shocked me.

To be honest after Rachels amazing Cabaret performance I thought she'd take it! But I'm kind of glad Jessie didn't take it as I don't think its really for her just yet. |

even without links in UK, ALW announced it on HDYSAPLM Canada. although, he did make it sound like a west end lead... naughty A Webb.

It will be in the WestEnd and starts towards the end of September!! |

As far as I recall Rachel had a leading part in a touring production before IDA so taking the Cabaret role maybe wouldn't have felt like she had made any progression by doing IDA. Sam on the other hand will give her career a real kick start with this role. I'm not sure how Jessie would have faired in this role, it is a big dance role which is right up Sam's street, I would rather see Jessie perform as herself. |

I'm surprised, I would have thought Sam was way too young for the part.

Saw Sam in Cabaret in Birmingham last night - she was absolutely amazing. She is perfect for the Sally Bowles part - better, IMO, than she would have been as Nancy, a part which requires more warmth.
