Instant Record Terminates Early

Quick question please.
Apologies if its been asked before.

Re: PVR80.

My wife was watching Midsomer Murders on Sunday.
I was recording Top Gear on BBC 2.

The kids wanted to watch something on the sat box at 9:00 so she pressed 'Record' without going into the EPG.

The boxed showed 57 minutes to run and when she viewed it yesterday it showed total duration 57 mins but it stopped recording after 52 minutes and so missed the end of the programme including the 'who done it'.

Is this a feature or a bug?

I think this box has an aversion to Midsomer Murder as it managed to skip 7 mins in the middle of a recording the other week.

I can't offer a solution but the Midsomer we recorded last week also missed the final 2/3 minutes. It has never happened with other recordings so the fault maybe with the programme info being sent out.
The recording was set up from the EPG .

I recorded Midsomer Murders on Sunday using the EPG and got no problems (ITV Wales region). I often get problems when recording regional ITV progs, but (usually) those on the national network seem to record ok here.

I've just checked my recording of that programme. Total recording time 1.58. It started about 4 minutes late - the PVR started recording at one minute past the hour and there were just over 3 minutes of ads on the front. But the programme is complete.

Anybody fancy providing me with an avi of the last 5 mins.
She still doesn't know who did it and I still haven't heard the last of it!

Just checked the ITV Catch-up on their site, but Midsomer is not available... only junky stuff (not that M is highbrow )

I'm too busy to watch it, but if I get around to it in the near future I'll PM you the denouement.

ITV Catch-up was my first port of call, but as you said they don't repeat my drama's only the normal trash TV.
I suppose they don't repeat anything that they would later release on DVD.
