After discussing this at work today surprisingly most people don't know how to get ice out of the ice tray. Most people would bang it of the counter sending ice flying everywhere.

The best way is to twist the ice tray slowly the ice just glides out now.

Sometimes I run a little hot water under the ice tray, just to loosen the ice.

Make it easier by buying it in bags already popped.

We have little trays we fill with water outselves.

When it's ready to be broken up it's simple to get out. Run cold water over it, it then " pops " itself and in turn cracks and breaks up leaving pieces ready to go in your drink. We have about 3 of these in rotation in the freezer and it cost us nothing to do.

I have a rubber tray, so I just push them out from the bottom one at a time

Why on earth would you buy it, I've never worked that out lol, it's frozen water, you have water and a freezer?

That's what I do as well - annoyingly one cube always misses the plate and ends up flying across the floor and under the fridge!

Coat the tray with KY jelly before adding the water.

Edit : KY is water soluble - Better use Vaseline.

I only have a teeny, tiny freezer so if I know I'm having a few guests I get a bag, it lasts an evening.

I havr a rubber tray for casual use

Our freezer has some kind of an ice machine - Its not one of these fancy american things that dispenses it into your cup.... but just a ordinary looking ice tray, that slots in - then it has a twist system, which pops it out for you, into a little container underneath. We havent been without ice since!

I've always just twisted the tray, the cubes just fall out then.
