I've had my C902 for a few weeks and love it. Really nice design, love the camera, love how it all works etc. I've found there's a problem with the alarm function though - it just doesn't work. I've checked it's all set properly, and initially it works, but fails to go off at all after that. I don't want to have to reset the alarm every night.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm also having problems with it freezing for a few minutes.

Will it be solved with some sort of software upgrade, I wonder?

Cheers in advance.

The alarm bug is common in this phone which should be fixed with a software upgrade. Try switching your phone on and off every couple of days as I have heard this helps solve the alarm problem.

Hi

I have the exact problems - the alarm, the freezing, and also very poor reception, especially when on the net.

i rang SE and they said in the next 4 weeks there will be a software update available to download which should fix the alarm issue.

I hope so because last week i got into work 1.5 hours late cos i overslept!

A software upgrade from the SE website and the data cable will sort all these issues. I had poor reception, phone crashed all the time, would not connect to web, alarm not working and poor reception. Since i have upgraded the software, the themes look different, the battery is in black instead of green and loads of other stuff.

I am having the same problem, and called O2 prior to finding this thread.

They said they would take the phone back and send me a refurb which I am not too keen on.

I have just run the update software function and it has come back to say that my phone already has the latest software.
The softwre version is 1204-1731 R3BA035 080521

Thanks for the replies. When I checked for software updates via my phone, it always came back telling me I had the most up to date version. I eventually got around to plugging it into my laptop in a fit of rage, visited the Sony Eriksson website and downloaded the correct PC to phone software as well as the actual phone software - which was a newer version than was on my phone.

On my phone that comes up as: 1204-1731 R3CA038 080721

This seems to have done the trick, anyway, and all's good!

Word of warning to anyone who does this - your phone will be completely wiped of photos, music etc, so make sure you make a back up of everything (including all of your phone numbers - which the software SE supply will do for you) before you start.

Thanks again!

Downloaded the latest software via the USB cable, and the phone seems to be ok now.. Will monitor it.

Taa

I'm quite chuffed. Didn't fancy a refurbished phone from O2 - seeing as I've only had this one 2 months

I am fuming!!!!!!

Set the alarm for 5:00am. I am suppposed to be in Leeds today running a Training Session. I woke up and looked at the phone 6:25 am!!!!!!!!!!!

The alarm did NOT go off. Tested it by setting the alarm for 6:30am and 6:40am and there was nothing.

This piece of tripe is going straight on ebay

Obviouly.

The phone is totally unreliable as anything other that to speak to people. The camera is past rubbish too.

It's currently sitting on ebay.

I'll stick with my K810i. Not let me down so far..

Have you not tried updating the firmware? It's very easy. I did mine the day I had it, it doesn't void the warranty as long as you do it from the SE site and mine has been perfect.

Yes. I have.
Did that back at the beginning of September. See my post up there ^^^ #15.

My point is, I thought that would have fixed the problem. It did for a while, and when I most needed it, it failed.

So. It's going.

I hope some buys it quick too.

That's really odd. I have the phone and it's been getting me up at 6am each morning for the last 2 weeks.

what firmware did you get when you updated it.
also the alarm should work if you set it for 6.30am and 6.40am to test it.

the problem with the alarm not going off was when you had them re-occuring mode and not manually set each day.

you may have a problem with your tone settings or phone itself.

it should/always go off if set manually.
