buying an iphone
does anyone know the best way of getting hold of the new iphone? Does it make any difference whatsoever if I buy it from carphone, o2, or apple shop? Do they still have you credit checking yourself when you get home or do they do it instore now?

Makes no difference if you get it from O2 or CPW, the credit check is done in store so all you do when you get home is put the sim card in the phone and connect to itunes. For the record i got my 16GB iPhone from the local O2 store. |

You can get it from apple stores and infact they have tended to have stock when the other two haven't during the stock crisis
The credit check is now done at point of sale rather than on activation |

Also if you want the white version of the 16GB iPhone 3G you can only get it at Apple stores - for the time being at least (no official word on when it will be available from O2 and CPW).

Why do you have to have a credit check?

Apple stores are for customers new to O2 only. Upgrades must be either O2 or CPW. |
