Downgrade the lowest tariff as soon as they will allow, and then pay the contract off if you want rid of it completely.
Having said that, there's never any point in paying off contracts - you don't save anything by doing so, you might as well just continue to pay it each month and use the allowances - and no more. Give notice on it in the penultimate month. You'll have to have 2 contracts going for a while if you want that iPhone! |

Thats the idea of a contract. You're stuck with it for the length of it

The only way of cancelling it without you paying is to do a transfer of ownership, you'll need to find someone who'll be willing to take on the contract and pass a credit check amongst other things, call T-Mobile and they'll tell you more about this
Apart from that you'll need to pay or wait until you can reduce your tariff as has been suggested AJxx |

So yes, it's better just to keep it and use the allowances. |

No way out of it. I remember in the first few days then you can cancel your contract if you are not satisfied with the service (reception quality), but you are past that period now. I would continue paying monthly, remove any bundles and try to get on to the lowest tariff as quickly as possible.
You could possibly give the phone to someone you trust they give you so much a month and make sure they don't go over your allowance so you are not at a total loss, plus your allowance is not going to waste. |

Regarding the downward price plan policy, as an employee I think its very unfair that they say you cant move your plan lower than the one you upgraded/signed up too until 11 months of being on the plan, it sates it no where in the t's and c's, I would argue it if they don't allow you too!

Usually its like at month 6 of a 12 month, or Month 9 of an 18 you can downgrade. Differs for different networks i would be surprised if they didn't allow any downgrade at all. you can see why they do it though, as the phone is subsidised you get your free phone on the £45pm and then drop to the £15pm the next month not all to fair is it, when if you went for the £15pm initially the phone is for e.g. £200.
