I have some free range chicken, in thighs and drumsticks, and i'm going to serve it with some salad tomorrow. I've also just bought a bottle of sticky BBQ sauce marinade, which i thought would make the chicken a bit nicer.

My mums told me to marinade the chicken tonight, and leave it in the fridge for tomorrow, then just grill the chicken. Do i just rub the marinade all over the chicken, generously? Or a thin layer?

I'd make some cuts in the chicken this helps the marinade to permeat the meat. I'd just pour some marinade over and rub in well cover and chill in the fridge. Make sure when your ready to cook the chicken you get it out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature.
I would prefer to cook it in the oven rather than grill being as its chicken on the bone.

I used a pastry brush to spread the sauce all over the chicken, and its been in the fridge chilling since about 10pm last night. I think im going to go with the grilling to be honest, it gives a nicer taste im told.

Awww sounds lovely Brian just take it out of the fridge a couple of hours before you cook it. Enjoy!
