Ericsson Charger Recall
A bit of advance warning to you that a number of the sources are reporting that next week Sony Ericsson will announce a recall of some of their mobile phone chargers. The faulty ones are marked "Made in Thailand by Delta".
Full details to be announced next week and there should be advertising on what you will need to do if you have one. Simon. |

I have 1 charger with "Made in Thailand by Delta" so I'll stop using it just in case...
I have 2 more though so it's not a problem - one says "Made in China by Astec" and the other says "Mde in Morocco by" and some odd looking logo. Thank goodness the chargers are interchangable between devices... |

If you ring SE they will send you a replacment to you with a free post envelope so you can return your old one. Its not all charges made by Delta in Thiland that are affected, only a certain batch code which I havent got on me right now but SE will be able to tell you what it is.

Details on the recall are now on Sony Ericsson's UK home page at : http://www.sonyericsson.com/uk/
According to that page the following products were possibly supplied with a charger that is being recalled: Sony Ericsson Phone Models: T68i, T300, T310, T610 Bluetooth handsfree accessories HBH-30 and HBH-65. Simon. |

This was in the paper.
Important Product Recall Notice UK charger for T610, produced by Delta. Look for... "Made in Thailand by Delta" and... BML 162 099/3 R1A If you got that, you have a faulty one - like me! The number to ring is 0800 587 6072 They will send out a new charger to you + a pre-paid envelope for you to put the old one in and send back. |

Just got a message of Orange 194 today; but saw the ad in the paper. Two about to be sent off. Not even allowed to touch them according to SE.

according to this:
There have been a limited number of incidents in the UK, where a pressure build-up in the charger has caused the top plastic part of the charger to brake off, with the danger of hitting someone. If the charger does break apart, the electronics of the charger may be exposed thereby creating a risk of giving a person touching these parts an electric shock. In such circumstance, there could also be a risk of fire, if the charger is in proximity of flammable material. looks like they could explode, bloody hell! |

Got my charger too, sent a big old fashioned thing like I used to have with my t28 years ago!
Just noticed as well the power output and m.aps are different on the two charges, hope it will not damage my shiny new phone! |

t610 charger
I ordered a t610 on orange on 2nd September, 2 days later I was told that there was a recall of all unsold t610's by the network because of the charger issue, so my order was delayed . As yet I still don't have my phone and there is no indication how long it will take to distribute the replacements.
Oddly enough, not all networks have recalled them - both O2 and Vodafone versions are currently in stock at the place I ordered my orange phone. Either that or they were quicker distibuting replacements? Anyone else waiting for a t610 since early September? I'm thinking of changing my order to a Samsung V200 or similar as I me fed up with waiting! |

Orange from my experience are a lot more cautious about selling faulty products. They were later releasing the t610 than any other network due to testing. I had to wait since May! Got mine at the end of August.

I'm confused. I received 2 new chargers, similar to previous. And returned both and today received an AC/DC charger asking me to return the liable to explosion one. Do you think I should keep it? And ignore returning them?
(Also, did anyone find the newspaper ad number for customer services can't spell? We spelt the names of everyuthing out and I have received 3 variations of addresses most with incomplete or wrong details! No idea how they were even able to find us!) |

I was one of the lucky ones. I had my T300 delivered with a charger made in China by Astec. Vodafone were very quick abut informing me about the faulty chargers about 2 weeks ago though.
