We all like to know about former HMs making fools of themselves

I've just caught the last few minutes of a discussion on Five Live about prison reform. The guests were Terry Waite and Steph

Not much more needs to be said

Anyone hear the whole thing ?

Steph and Waite's night in the cells

• Former Middle East hostage Terry Waite is going back behind bars alongside someone familiar with a more comfortable kind of confinement, the Big Brother star Steph Smith.
• The pair are among 77 people spending 21 hours in a cell at HMP Birmingham in the hope of raising more than £25,000 for sick children.
• The lock-up, which starts at 1400 BST on Saturday, will be held in a new £58m building at Winson Green prison in Birmingham.
• Money raised from the event will be donated to the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital, Acorns Children's Hospice and Kids West Midlands, which helps youngsters with special needs.
• For Big Brother contestant Steph Smith, who is from Redditch in Worcestershire, the experience will be something of a role reversal - she used to work as a prison warder.
• Each person taking part in the challenge has had to raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship, a prison service spokeswoman said.
• The "inmates" will get a tour of the new facilities at Winson Green prison, which include a library, education centre and gymnasium, before being locked in individual cells for the night.
• They are expected to be released at about 1100 BST on Sunday.

I remember during BB3, that the housemate's surnames just rolled off the tongue.
Jonny Regan,..Alex Sibley,..Kate lawler,..Jade Goody,...with nearly every one of them, you can remember their surnames with ease.

But this year,...I'm not so famliar with them...The names Jon Tickle and Cameron Stout,..no problem,..but the rest of them...I have to really think about it.

Scott,..err Turner,..Ray..what is it again?..oh yes..Shah.
After that, I really have to start thinking about it. The names are just not as memorable as the BB3 HMs.

Nush,....is it Novak?...As in Kim Novak.
Anouska,..err...Gobbleoffski,..is it??
Tania de Marco,..yes I'm sure I've got that one right.
Gos...Gos.....Gos What???

Shows how much they captured our imagination. From the link that Tamara gives,..it really looks like they just didn't have a clue what Steph's surname was...When in doubt,...just give 'em any old name,..Smith'll do.

Steph Smith
She got to the final, for God's sake,..and hardly anyone outside of this forum really has a clue who she is.
Says it all really. A testament to how much these personalities had an effect on our Summer TV viewing.

So let me get this straight.....

You never liked BB4

BB4 finished over a month ago.

You're still going on about BB4 and moaning about how boring it was.

?

She was married to footballer Stacey Coldicott - I don;t know if she still uses that name or if she's gone back to her maiden name.

Thanks for that B1-2JP
On the DSBB HMs profiles she's down as a Coldicott (so to speak!)

Oh,..I'm going on about BB am I?
I haven't posted for days,..I rarely do now.
Yet,.apparently I've been going on about it, and moaning about it for the last month...Well that's news to me.."mynameisnotfred".

No, I'm not moaning,..I'm just reflecting on the status of BB this year.I found it quite funny that a HM was so unmemorable that a name needed to be made up for her.
I'd say that your reply to me was more negative than my original post.
My post was actually meant to have had humorous intention.
Maybe I should have put more smiley emoticons in to signpost the humour.

So I took the mickey out of Steph,..you're still whining about other people's posting styles,.. BB4 has been over a month,..Steph's a non-entity,...get over it.

Just cheer up,..I'd thought we'd gotten past this personal bickering stage on the forum.

If Stephs gone back to her maiden name maybe her divorce has come through ? .....although I thought she was still just getting divorced. Maybe she just decided to ditch her husbands name and be done with it.

My mistake, "Alrightmate".

Point is, BB4 is memorable. Otherwise you wouldn't still be 'going on' about it.

(lots of smileys so you don't think i'm being really miserable or bickering with you)

It may not be everyone's idea of fun but at least Steph is doing something useful for charity rather than turning up at the opening of an envelope or nightclub, or going on publicity induced holiday's for the hell of it!

Otherwise I would remember their names.

Think of it less so much of me going on about, or moaning about BB4,..and more about me celebrating the impact of the BB3 characters.

Well I don't know Steph's surname either and I enjoyed BB4.

I enjoyed BB4 too. I find myself smiling as I watch clips from it. Essentially a group of decent young people enjoying themselves. So there were boring patches but that is life. On the whole goodness triumphed, and the Scot and Nush love story was delightful to see. The outcome has been tragic for them both and I would love to hear how they are getting on. I wish them great happiness in the future

I too enjoyed the interview - particularly the bit when, asked something rather complex, she hummed and hawed, got distracted by something in the studio which was presumably hilarious but sadly lost on the listeners, then had to ask "what was the question again?". The interviewer wisely brought Terry Waite in at this point and largely ignored her from then on.

I don't think they'll be offering her her own programme on the strength of that display (was she p*ssed?).

Were we watching the same program?.

'Decent' 'Enjoying' 'goodness' 'Love story' 'delightful'

Did I miss something?

Lol, you are so right about BB4 contestants, being forgettable apart from Jon and Cameron.

I can't even be bothered to join in many debates about them on here, after the initial little spats just following BB4. I might just have little digs at Cameron now and again for fun, but don't know if I can even be bothered doing that. Would still much rather discuss BB3, or even BB1 & 2

Steph Smith?? Any relation to Spencer BB3.

Luckily a couple of them made an impact,..otherwise, along with Steph Smith,..we'd hear reports about Jon Doe and Fed Bloggs.
