uhhh......Gos Smith? ”

Gos Gosal. His first name is Herjender. (which would be awful for transsexual jokes).

I'd go by Gos, too.

I enjoyed BB4 too. I find myself smiling as I watch clips from it. Essentially a group of decent young people enjoying themselves. So there were boring patches but that is life. On the whole goodness triumphed, and the Scot and Nush love story was delightful to see. The outcome has been tragic for them both and I would love to hear how they are getting on. I wish them great happiness in the future ”

This has to be a wind-up post The only tragic outcome from BB4 was for the viewers

Not a wind-up. The love story developed before you - I only saw channel 4. The camera saw it. It was all in Scott's eyes . It would make a good film - or tv play! Perhaps lots of people have forgotten what it looks like - pity.

Flossin' hell surely you are having a laugh now, a good film, sheesh.

It was all in Scott's eyes? ah you mean he fancied her, big deal, he wasn't the only one was he?

Lust in Scott's eyes more like!

He was sexually frustrated they all were!

I'd want to s*** Nush if I was in the situation that Scott and the rest were in and I didn't even like her!

Maybe if you only saw Channel 4 that explains your interpretation of events, but maybe not eh!

I don't think I'd bother watching it if it was made into a TV play or film, it wasn't that interesting looking back at it as I have!

You only saw Channel 4?.....Okay, I can see where you're coming from.
The camera never lies,..right?

It would make a good film, or a TV play?....You've hit the nail on the head there.
Who, more than anyone else would be aware of this fact?
And who would have the means to use tried and tested techniques, that enable them to push the emotional buttons of viewers who want to believe in happy endings?

How do films, TV plays, dramas work? What makes people escape into them?
When you can answer those questions,..you'll be able to see how BB4 was an exercise in manipulation.

There hasn't been a happy ending - hadn't you noticed? These were real people, not actors. The camera and technical work were brilliant, but you can't be so jaded, brutalised and cynical that you can't separate truth from fiction - can you?
I saw something lovely happening, and it was all about self-control and respect.

No-one said there had been a happy ending, apart from the tabloids who tried to tell us there had been.

If you don't believe there has been a happy ending,..then there's hope for you yet.
But most of what I see on Channel 4, is trying to tell me there was.

Can real people not be actors too?
Even if the contestants weren't holding anything back,..the job can be done with camera, and technical work alone.

I think that you have put that the wrong way round.
The converse is more likely to be true.
Somebody who is jaded, brutalized and cynical,..is probably more likely to be able to seperate truth from fiction.

I don't know about something lovely happening,..but I do know that if you take the show as a whole,......a huge proportion of it was a fictionalized, romanticised picture of events.
A fraction of it was probably true.
And the rest of what happened that had a basis of reality,..was distorted into an exaggerated version of itself.

The camera can only record what is there. The skill lies in anticipating and capturing the unguarded moment. Clips can be moved around out of context to look like something else, but the interaction between people in the same shot is just there.
I agree with a lot of what you say after all channel 4 is in the entertainment business, but the programme was interesting from the point of view of seeing how people behave in certain circumstances. Most (but not all) of them were really nice, and they had been asked to try to get along with each other - which they did. Now that doesn't make for slick entertainment. How could it?
I don't think there will be another BB with as benign intentions as this one. The demand seems to be for ever more outrageous spectacle and it's frightening how willing the mob is to tear perfectly decent people to pieces (Remind you of anything?)
I found the last couple of weeks fascinating. Just observe the way events unfolded as a result of one comment. Was it unguarded or deliberate? Students could base a whole study on those two weeks and the personalities of the six people involved. Now you aren't going to be predictable and say "What personalities?" are you? No, because you've lost interest? Ho-hum
