Working in a phone shop I see a lot of people bring in phones for repair and the majority end up leaving it when they realize they'll get charged as it's not covered by the warranty.
Why do people think that they can bring there phone in because they dropped it in a puddle? Because it got dropped and the screen stopped working? Because it has a large scratch down the middle of a screen?
Some of these people actually believe they should get a free exchange or repair, too. Why?
I also hate the people who come in with a cracked screen and want a repair "I haven't touched it - it was on a table", yeah sure it was.
What is that makes people think they have a god-given right to be reckless with their handsets and then make the networks pay?
I had a guy who started screaming at me because I wouldn't send his USB Dongle off for repair - he said customer services had told him to come into the shop so we can send it off, when he brought it in the dongle was obviously damaged which was causing the problem. He kicked off saying it was poor service and we should be trying to keep his custom and give him a new dongle - umm not when you're spending £20 a month and want a £120 dongle for free, mate?
