iPod Touch Battery
Kargo
02-08-2008
Hi Guys, does anyone know if its OK to charge an ipod touch up even if the battery is half full. I occassionally charge my ipod "Half to Full" and dont really wait until the battery is completely drained.. im not sure if thats a good way of charging it. Can the battery be damaged if I keep charging this way?

I don't think it's a problem, I often charge my iPod when it is half full, mainly as I'm hooking it up to sync with iTunes. I should imagine the battery is designed for charging without complete drains.

There is no memory effect with li-ion batteries. With the old Ni-cads you were meant to drain them. The advice with ipods is you will actually get more life out the battery if you just keep topping it up.

the more you charge the better.
partial charges are less wearing than full discharges.
google battery university for more info.
you should probably charge it full and cdharge it more often.
