Microwave cooking
I recently cooked some bacon in the microwave and was surprised by the results. It was as good as pan frying (or George Forman grilling) but quicker and less to clear up. Method - place a single layer of bacon rashers on a plate, nuke uncovered for about 5 mins on high. If you like it crispier, nuke for a couple more mins.
A poster on another thread was happy with the results on poaching eggs in the microwave, again saving time and cleaning. Do you use your microwave for things other than re-heating stuff or cooking tv dinners (and I mean using your microwave on the 'microwave' setting and not the 'grill' setting if you have one those combo ones!!)? Which things are easier to cook with a microwave? Which things are not so good cooked in the microwave? Do you have any microwave recipes to share? |

I put rashers between kitchen towel on a plate.
Stops it splashing fat so even less cleaning and I'm all for that

Marco Pierre White cooks bacon that way too, I was sceptical when he said it on his great british feast programmes, then he got this cafe to do some and it looked lovely.
I haven't tried it myself yet. |
