Hi all, I thought i would ask in here as forum members have reallyhelped me outin the past.

I have the tv listed above and there seems to be a problem, I was getting just sound and no pictue ages ago via scart connection on a freeview box and just gave up with it, however today i turned it on and it was all working fine, turning it on and off around 5-6 times and all was good, then it reverted back to just sound and no pic, i have tried turning it on and off a lot of times but still only get sound.

So basically does anyone know if this is an easy problem to fix or is the tv prety much redundant now.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Sounds like the inverter is shutting down, it's a fairly common fault on cheap LCD's - often caused by one of the transformers being faulty. However, it may just be a dry joint on one of the transformers?.

To be fair this was not a cheap lcd, but we have seen many problems on this model including psu and panel failure.

Might have been expensive to buy, but that doesn't mean it's not a cheap set - JVC have rarely made their own TV's, they mostly just buy cheap sets and badge them. The few sets they have made themselves have never been very impressive either

Knowing the JVC of that era I would say that it is probably not worth doing as a new 26" of an equal pictue quality is now less than £350. Even if this is a low cost problem to repair the JVC may fail of other problems in the near future anyway!
