I have had my douts about BB being live but the other day when they asked what the time was they said it was ten past when I looked at my watch it said twenty past so I chaeck the time on texted and it also said twenty past, why do they advertise it as being live when in fact it is not.

Delay
BB 'Live' is on a ten minute delay to allow the BB production staff to censor unsuitable material, such as pre-watershed bad language.
It's a bit of a fraud to call it live, but there's nothing we can do about it. Lupin |

The camera above the house that looks over the garden/roof of the house is Live! The other day the housemates had to go in the Bedroom so BB could fix the canopy. They had been in the bedroom about 10mins when it cut to the aerial view cam and all the housemates where outside, yet when it went back to the bedroom they where all still in the bedroom. So at least one cam is live it just doesn't show much more than theskyline. Martin

From the beginning I always thought that it was 10 mins behind, but over the last 24 hours everytime they say the time in the house it's been 16/17 mins behind, soon we'll be an hour behind & they'll still have the 'live' dog up!

I understand that they have ten minutes to review the feed and censor anything out.
The people doing the censoring usually miss all the bad language and then censor afterwards for 30 secs so they may as well show it live. |

Lupin Well in any case I think they should sort it out pronto before they lose their valued viewers Did anyone see that 2 part series on ch4, has been on for the last 2 nights between 10.30 midnight, was most disturbing - not sure if i`m allowed to say whats its called - but what i want to know is why they have no problem with showing this kind of material yet after midnight on big bro they are still blanking out parts of their conversation whats going onThere must be something we can do? How about an online petition so we dont miss out on any nitty gritty

hmmm
i think little brother sucks too in that case.
Thing is though, wont people get fed up of tuning in when big bro constantly cuts the conversation, i dont know about anyone else but i`m getting fed up of hearing aeroplanes & train noises. And i think a valid point is that when the highlights are on they dont block out the swear words - so whats all that about then - thats only on at 9/ 10 pm isnt it....... So who do reckon will be out on their ear tonite ...... has to be Penny me thinks......... i would vote myself out if i had to put up with that !!! |

Asking for the third time now
Does ANYONE have an email address to complain about the "live" coverage? |

About the live feed, nothing on television is actually live its always minutes behind and if you notice on any digital service the analogue service gets the signal quicker than the digital, in fact its can be annoying if you got an analogue tv and a digital tv in ajacent rooms (both tuned to a terrestrial channel) cause you here the presenter say something like 'and now to....' and 3-4 seconds later you here the same presenter say 'and now to....' talk about annoying!

This is particualrly annoying for me as in the main room we have Sky Digital, in this room I have OnDigital and upstairs terrestrial. When Me, my mum and my sister are all watching TV, there is three delays and quite annoying hearing three of the same thing when two of the other televisions are turned up too loud!

the gaps as some one says is to edit out any libelous comments made.i think this is a pile of shit and that anyone who would take libelous action over comments said on the show is one VERY SAD individual indeed and needs to get a life.

The libel excuse is fairly lame. All Channel 4 need to do is issue a televised written warning every few hours saying something like:
"The views of the members of the Big Brother household are their own opinions and do no reflect the views of Channel 4" It's not exactly legally water-tight, but other shows that do it get away with it. Lupin |

They have every right to block out these comments...
The TV world is a very strict one nad things said on television have a large impact on those people that watch it, whether you agree with it or not. The bodies that be cannot 'bend' the rules just for one show, otherwise others would complain and then it would be a total free-for-all for comments. It just simply can't happen. I know this is going to the extreme of the circumstances but it has to happen - that is what rules and regualation are for. |

Hate to disagree with a fellow mod here, but I don't think they do NEED to do it. They don't do it on the internet, and if you looked at the comparative audience I doubt there's much in it....
Of course, a disclaimer may protect Channel 4, but it wouldn't protect the housemates, who could themselves be sued....and I suppose that would be bad publicity for Channel 4. Still....I'm not a lawyer, I could be really wrong.
