Is this charge normal (abroad, roaming)?
Hello,
I have just came back from Majorca (Spain), went to Magaluf, I used my vodafone mobile over there (under an adults name, 600min, unlimited texts), used the vodafone preferred network (Vodafone Spain), phoned my mate a few times in the UK (orange contract mobile), and she says her bill has came to £25-£30 extra. Before I went abroad I phoned Vodafone and they told me it won't charge the people I phone, just 75p on the bill and thr rest comes out of my inclusive minutes. I'm already getting worked up over the phone bill for the usage abroad my Nan has got to pay, but now I have to worry about bills of peoples landlines and mobiles I have phoned, when Vodafone told me it would be free for them to accept (I don't know if they will be charged or not). Can someone give me some advice. When I was abroad I was phoning UK landlines and Orange mobiles and I'm on Vodafone. Thanks, Stephen. |

Has the persons bill actually stated the charge is due to receiving international calls? |

No, but I know she is always careful to stay in her minutes, and its rare she is over, and she has never been that over before, thankfully her Dad has paid it, but I don't think its fair on her and her Dad because Vodafone assured me that they wouldn't be charged. She hasn't seen the bill herself.
Should UK mobiles or UK landlines be charged for receiving International mobile calls, becasue there is certainly no disclaimer like 0800 REVERSE either end. |

That's right - a 75p "connection fee" per call and the rest from your minutes - no charge for the person receiving the call (as long as they are in the UK!)Quote:

See above - it is nothing to do with you - Vodafone are correct, there is NO CHARGE for receiving calls from abroad - provided you are in your home territory, which you say she was (back in the UK). Can someone give me some advice. Quote:

Thanks, Stephen. |

Doesn't happen, see previous answer.
