Scon or Scone?
The word "Scone" has one pronounciation only of course, but there is a big debate I have with my friends, in which we keep arguing about how we pronounce it.
It is pronounced "Scon" isn't it? That's what I think and what it should be. "Scone" sounds very annoying and far too posh, and your lips end up pouting when saying it like that, which annoys me. "Scon" I think is nice and simple. How do you pronounce it? |

See, to me 'scon' sounds posher than 'scone'.
I also say the latter, it's not 'scon' at all. |

I always say 'Scone'.
'Scon' has never sounded quite right somehow!! Then again I might just be a bit common. |
