RDR-HXD970 hi-speed dub problem

I have recorded several programmes recorded off air in HQ from sky box to the HDD & then copiied them onto DVD-R using hi-speed dub. But today I have a problem When I press the dub button I receive the on-screen message "Hi-speed dubbing cannot be made in video mode".

What should the settings be in order to perfom this operation. I do not think I have changed any settings since I last dubbed from HDD to DVD.

I have also noticed if I select a dubbing list this latest recording and some of the other titles have a yellow triangle on the thumnail.

If I cannot dib in hi-speed how do record from HDD to DVD in real time

any help welcome. Thanks

Are the recordings in 16:9 ratio,as they can only be dubbed in real time, select recording mode ,and change to HQ,instead of high speed.
The yellow triangle means that the recording has an aspect ratio change,i.e 16:9 to 4:3 and when dubbing it will split the recording in to separate titles,at the point(s),where the aspect ratio changes.

Many thanks for the advice. Is there a setting on the RDR-HXD970 to avoid aspect ratio change during recording to the HDD from the Sky box. My TV (Sony E50A12U) is 16.9 so I set everything to 16.9. Would it be better to keep the RDR-HXD970 set to 4.3 to allow for hi speed dubbing.

THANKS

Afraid not.
It doesn't matter what you set the aspect ratio,on the TV or the Sky digibox or the DVD recorder, whether its 4:3 or 16:9,that has no affect,in this case.
Its the actual broadcasting ouput, when it switches from one to another,e.g the adverts are 16:9,whereas the programme will have been in 4:3.
In this case you make sure you edit out the advert points(using the frame editing, which is more accurate),when doing a A-B erase.
You'll find that due to a technical problem, the aspect switches, and you may not have, even noticed it,whilst watching,a programme.
Only when you want to dub to dvd,do you get the aspect ratio change(s) warning appearing.
Apart from editing out these point(s),(which in affect, could totally ruin the recordings).
The only option offered by the dvd recorder is let it dub to dvd, with the recording being split,in to titles(again not ideal),as I posted earlier.
Something else to remember,16:9 recordings can't be dubbed in high speed on DVD+R/DVD+RW,only real time.
