Years ago you could buy frozen concentrated orange juice that came in a tube, slightly smaller than a Coke can. You unwrapped it and dropped it into a large jug of water and waited for it to thaw.
I haven't seen them for years. Anyone remember them? Anyone know if they are still available?

Why would you want to? Why couldn't you just buy normal OJ? Personally, I've never seen this "frozen juice"

I remember them , they were in like a cardboard wrap with a tin top and bottom.

I remember wanting my mum to buy them and she said no.

I presume the boon is that it's a big space saver, as opposed to buying a carton and freezing it.

The last I heard of it was in the movie Trading Places

Why don't you get ordinary orange juice and freeze it?

That's them!

And the reason I think they're a good idea is that one pack, smaller than a Coke can, can make a large jug of fresh orange juice.

Most of the "Fresh Orange Juice" you buy from the supermarket is made from the same concentrate, complete with bits of orange floating about. This simply makes it easier to carry home and store in the freezer for months until it's needed.

I'll try Netto. Thanks LG.

True, this was a really 1960s thing. At the time everyone thought they were the height of sophistication, prior to that orange juice was only ever sold in chemists, and just for children who need building up a bit.

Then I suppose when people started going to the States or Spain on holiday, and tasted proper fresh orange juice for the first time everyone suddenly woke up and said "Why on earth did we put up with that rubbish?"

That doesn't make much sense seeing as most Orange juice sold here isn't Fresh and is made from concentrate.

I can only assume that the Frozen concentrate orange juice tastes different from the Made from Concentrate stuff available in shops. If it really doesn't then I too want some of that Frozen stuff.

Why don't you make your own juice and then freeze it in the quantities you want?
