I have read a few, in fact a lot, of complaints about the gaps in audio transmission during E4 coverage and totally aggree that it is not acceptable and is a pain in the Ar*e.

But on the other hand, is this their way of ensuring that Channel 4 still get to broadcast some of the juicy gossip etc...? If we saw and heard everything wouldnt that steal the thunder from the main C4 show?

What is annoying is that they insist that it is done to maintain viewing for the daytime, but if you keep watching they still do it later on at night.

Overall a very annoying practice which could be resolved by the use of a PIN, unless there are other reasons why are not meant to hear what is being said.

I wonder if the sound gaps are in fact a "spoiler" when segments are to be included in the highlights package, wouldn't want to give it all away would they

Well if this mornings anything to go by, it's going to be a long highlights program,In a 5 minute spell this morning there was SEVEN cut offs of more than 15 seconds. You end up listening to trains more than the housemates!

They pop up the message that it is intended to make the show suitable for daytime viewing, yet they even blank out the Big Brother voice when he was announcing if they had just passed their First Aid task or not. Everyone was dead quiet listening so does this mean that Big Brother is now saying things not suitable for daytime viewing????

Without a doubt they are blatantly lying to us and treating us like fools by PRETENDING that it is to make the show suitable, Rubbish!!!! It is designed to make us watch the show twice.

In summary, the idea behind the E4 coverage is good but in practice it is being slowly wrecked by some fools with marketing agendas. Thanks for nothing E4!

It's not designed to make us watch the show twice at all, (What would be the point in that?!)

No there is obviously a problem with the feed of the sound, hence whenever it cuts off a train is always heard!!

E4 then put up that stupid banner saying it's to make it suitable for daytime viewing just as an excuse!

SORT IT OUT E4 - else you won't have ANY viewers!!!!

When the sound cuts, we hear sound from the microphone outside, ie normal background noise. As the house is close to a railway (or tube) line, that is why we often hear train noises. It is NOT a technical problem
