Nick and Todd
Anyone else think it's a wee bit cynical of Corrie that the gay storyline is being played out by the 2 most fancied characters (by gay men) in street history. Maybe the scene will be with them in footy kit for some contrived reason.
By several accounts this amounts to more than just a clumsy pass by Todd and leads 2 more... G BTW I'm not complaining - bring it on !!! |

Perhaps this is slightly off topic but has anyone else noticed that for someone who has supposedly been living in Canada for such a long time, Nick Platt has returned to Weatherfield with a rather distinctive luvvie, West End accent

We've just cast Eileen. [And she now has] a family, she's [got two] boys, sons. And rather than thinking, "Hey! This is our opportunity to have a gay character,' and then sort of create, we say, "Right, she's got these two lads. How old are they? 15 and 17? Right, let's find a couple of [young actors], a couple of lads,' and then once you've seen them and you've seen her interact with them, the stories will develop from them. One of them might be a bit brainier than the other, one of them might be into fitness, that sort of thing. Rather than thinking, "Right, this one's a kleptomaniac, and this one's in the closet but he'll form a huge crush on Ken Barlow'."

Obviously the seeds are beginning to be sown, though. First they are together inthe Rovers (after Todd has a go at Jason's dad) then they appear together in Roy's cafe to try to persuade Sarah not to be sohostile to Gail. As much as this story has been derided by many, they're certainly playing it in a fairly subtle way at the moment.

Agreed. Todd's tight black t-shirt last night was a bit of a hint, too. Never had him down as a t**d burglar, but I suppose he had intended going to Oxford at one stage

One thign I've noticed about storyline- There's a boyfired & Girlfriend. The Boyfreind turns gay with the Girlfriends brother. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't EastEnders do the exact same thing in 1996 with Tiffany, Tony & Simon?
