Problem with SE K850i
My OH has had the K850i phone for about 3 months and recently, it's started to turn itself off and reboot itself. But today, it did the same thing and now he can't turn the phone back on. We've tried taking the battery out, charging it up but it still won't work.
Anyone else had a similar problem? |

This is one of several well known problems with this phone. I'm afraid it needs to go off for repair. Sorry to bring bad news.

I got this phone (foolishly
), and I agree, its absolute pants ( )Mine (had it for about 3 months too) randomly turns itself off, I assumed this was because I have too much music on it (which is causing it to overload (~2GiGs worth)) as the music player is always locking up (and the first time it rebooted was while listening to music). However, speaking to SE Repair Centre, it is common (all too common), and the only way to fix it, is to send it to them (as mentioned by prkink ^^). I've personally given up on the phone, I have no use for it now, other then as an alarm clock ( ). However, if you do decide to get it replaced by SE Repair Centre, go through your service provider (if you are on contract), as at times (my experience last year), they can take a while to repair the handset, and get it sent back (~5 weeks ), so going via your provider means (providing they are also aware of the fault) may be able to arrange a cover handset, while yours is being repaired.

Had the same problem and was on my 5th K850 when I couldn't take any more and asked if I could have a more reliable phone. O2 sorted me a N95 and did the swap at door service so I was without a phone for about 30 seconds.

I had the same problem when i got this phone last year, and all i did was update the software via the auto update on the phone and it cured the phone straight away and never had any probs since.
Try updating your phone go to the SE web site and get the latest firmware or do it via the phones update service on the handset. |
