Hello

Now that there appears to be a new TUTV Thomson box around, does anyone actually think that we'll get a decent software upgrade that'll actually fix all of the numerous bugs with the old box? Unfortunately I'm not in warranty - am I just wasting my time hoping for something that'll never materialise?

What do you think?

If anyone from TUTV is reading this, how about giving us a date? Or even a month when we'll get a proper upgrade - please don't tell me that you don't know. I work in software and all software professionals develop and test to deadlines - so please don't insult our intelligence, with a 'don't know when it will be ready answer', as this implies that your software developers/testers are unprofessional.

Yes, I am 100% certain Top Up TV will deliver what they promise

I shall post what one of Top Up TV's staff posted a few days ago:
I won't commit to a date at this time because I'll only get a load of flack if I miss it. However - the main coding is all done and we're now removing the last of the glitches.

regards,

Kieron.
We appreciate the feedback (both positive and, where constructive, negative from this forum). I post here after work - usually in my front room where I watch through the same boxes and same software you have. We know where these things are good and where they need more work - and we're working to make them as good as they possibly could be.

regards,

Kieron.

I'm too out of warrenty, but I'm so used to making things last beyond their normal life span by twiddling with them but didn't expect to be doing it to this machine so early in its life, but point taken they are still working on un upgrade again.......maybe this time it will sort it all out.

Unfortunately Ironeagle fails to mention that these reassurances about a software patch to cure the acknowledged problems have been issued periodically since 2007 without any result.

However, I have been brought up never to question another's faith, even if it contradicts one's own experience

Regardless of how long it's taking to release a fix for some of the problems, I stand by what I say.

Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so

Perhaps, but will it happen this decade?

Meantime the boxes are unfit for purpose.

Hmmm, not all of them....mine has recorded over 11 hours a day for the last 3 months with very few problems.
