Orange Customer Service with my faulty w910i
Lewisfall

Ok...I'm 10 months into my 18 month (grrr) contract with Orange. I've got a SE W910i handset, which is by far the single biggest piece of shit phone I've ever had.

My first one had loads of bugs but I finally phoned for a replacement when the screen went black and booted back up with lines running vertically down 2/3 of it and the remaining 3rd was totally black.

Along comes handset number 2 which is fine for a few months aside from not connecting with my Bluetooth hands-free properly every time. Then it starts crashing. So I ring for a replacement again.

Handset number 3 comes 3 days ago. Last night the screen goes like handset number 1.

I ring Orange and tell them, and say that since I now physically hate the SE w910i, I really don't want another one. They tell me that I HAVE to have another one.

I ask if there's someone more senior I can speak to about the matter and they tell me there isn't.

They suggest I email customer services who email back (automated) that they don't take complaints about faulty phones by email and I have to ring the people who already told me they can't f***ing help!

I am fuming! I've never had a problem with a mobile handset until this one came along and I've really lost patience with the model in question.

Anyone got any ideas what I can do here?

Insisting on speaking to a supervisor won't get you anywhere because they have about the same amount of powers as an advisor, unfortunately they can't magic up a different model replacement, ring up and insist on a brand new model because you have no faith in the refurbished ones they've previously sent you.

Call everyday as often as you can to report fault after fault after fault.
My brother had the same problem and after about 3 weeks of calling 4/5 times a day they finally gave him a Nokia N95...which although a little slow, is such a better phone.

He called and told them that he wanted it logged that his phone has just crashed again, someone called him back after a couple of days to ask if he could send it to them to get looked into.....he asked if he could have another phone in the mean time, they said no so he said no.

My S.E has been doing exactly the same thing, consequently today I have missed 4 calls from my mother in law, all important as my father in law is unwell, I can't tell I have missed calls as the phone does not register them when it is turned off, same as messages they go directly to the inbox but does not state I have any new messages. to turn it back on takes about 5 minutes to boot back up again, then immediately turns off again, Fortunately I have only about 2 months left in this contract, when I reported this fault I was told to buy a new battery, never again will I purchase a SE

That's not a bad idea at all...

I'm going to try going into a branch today because I'm told that the advisors in store can speak to better teams at Orange HQ.

I've not yet given up on getting a DMR!
