Can I buy 3G iPhone without a contract & get it unlocked?
As the title says, is it possible to buy a 3G iPhone and jailbreak it to work with my Vodafone sim?
Sorry if this has been covered already but I couldn't find it in the forum. I am happy to pay the full price for the phone I just don't want to have to alter my current contract. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Andy |

No, you need to sign a 18 month contract in the shop before you get the phone.
O2 are meant to be releasing a PAYG iPhone at some point though. Have they even managed to SIM unlock the new iPhone yet? |

Thanks Gormond.
Does anyone know if this is the case in the USA or Canada? If not I could buy one there when I go over in a few weeks. Obviously I need to know that it can be unlocked when i bring it back first. Any idea when the PAYG version will be available in the UK? |

Although there is a Jailbreak for the iPhone 3G I haven't heard of any SIM unlock yet. |
