From the online manual:

Quote:
“When you want to pause the TV programme
Press PAUSE
When you want to pause
Press PLAY

The programme is saved on the HDD in SP recording
mode ( 25) regardless of the recording mode and
the drive selected before starting saving.
At least 1 hour up to 8 hours of TV programmes can
be temporarily saved on the HDD. (This may vary
depending on the HDD free space.)”

Sounds confusing, try it and let us know,if it works.

It is a viera link function

You need to be linked by viera link for it to work.

However, it is a silly system with many restriction which does not work very well or very reliably.

It uses the TV's tuner, not the DVDR's, so you cannot turn away from the channel you are watching, or turn the TV set off without losing the recording.

Also the recording is auto erased and not available for archiving if you decide you wish to keep it.

Far better using the 'Chase live TV' function.

That uses the DVDR's tuner, frees up the TV , and the recording is saved like any other.
