Um a camcorder is a videocamera. What exactly are you looking for? Do you mean you want a more pro one?

http://www.videokit.co.uk

is a good place to see what cameras are on the market, and if one takes your fancy you could do a price comparison search to see if there are cheaper prices.

yep what i was trying to say is a proper video camara close to the type used for television broadcasting so somthing between your standard cam corda you could probably buy in currys where i got mine from & the top of the range broadcast qaulty camaras.however have brifly looked at your site link & although theres a lot of good stuff on there i'd be keen to find somthing a little cheaper ,say around £500

You won't be able to get a broadcast camera for less than £2-3K - however, the Canon HV20 or HV30 are good quality high definition cameras and out of the box have been seen to match a £3K cam for quality (though the manual controls with a £3K cam allow much more customisation, so is ultimately better). But yeah, an HV20 or HV30 is a good affordable inbetween.
