Can anyone help confirm if I've got something set or are doing something wrong.
If I record something off TV it ends up with a name of "Chann" - which I can edit but in the manual it shows egs of names like BBC1 or CH4.
What does yours do?

You are not doing anything wrong.

The channel ident information is unalterable and comes delivered with the streamed programme data.

There is limited space in displays and so data is truncated.

So if you have a channel whose ident is 'Channel4' and it is truncated to five characters only - you end up with 'Chann' in the display.
