Orange's 'extra charges'
AshFan

I haven't been happy with my orange account since i changed my o2. I got a contract for £30 a month, and i thought thats reasonable. But then my bills came in (i had to wait 4 months for the first bill) and i was charged £45! I got £6 extra for VAT, £5 extra to surf the internet on my phone (i never have done this), and £3 to send 15 picture messages a month (i don't send this many). Does anyone else have this problem, of them adding extra charges to your bill? I've cancelled all these charges so hopefully my bill will be £36 a month, which still isn't the £30 i wanted, but i cant change VAT.

When I worked for them the extras were on the contact that customer's signed. Problem is people never bothered to read what they were signing.

Bothered to read them?! You don't expect a lot of hidden charges. They should tell you. The contract is all a bunch of jibberish, and they pressure you to sign as soon as possible and say its all standard stuff. I think its a rip off.

I've just read my orange contract and there are no mention of these extra services or charges so looks like your wrong.

Did you get your phone from Carphone Warehouse by any chance?

And what plan do you have?

When you joined Orange a while back they put all these extras on your account to try out free for a few months. I think they then made you phone up to remove them. Possibly that?

I said when I worked for them. And I'm not wrong, they were mentioned on the contracts at that time. Interesting to see that you admit to signing a contract that you hadn't read too.
