I don't know if anyone on here is familiar with a network called "Dot" but they basically supplied students with good pay monthly deals. I signed upto an 18 month contract with them for 700 units a month. 2 units=1 min and half a unit=1 text. Any unused units would also roll over to the next month, I paid £25 per month for this....bargain.

About 2 months ago they went bust and Vodafone took over and changed all the terms and conditions. No units anymore, no roll over and they put me on a tariff which I still don't even know exactly what I'm supposedly paying for. Anyway I'm not happy about this and they refused to talk to me about cancelling, can you belive they wouldn't talk to me??? I'm in America till the end of August and I've been out here for the past 2 months so I'm really strugglng to get this sorted/terminated. I've cancelled my direct debit so they can't get any money from me!

No way am I agreeing to these new terms and conditions, I never even signed up to a contract with Vodascum so why the hell should I agree to them

Actually you are wrong, Vodafone are migrating dot customers onto packages of equal or greater value. The terms and conditions have not changed and as a result you have no right to cancel.

As you are in america I suggest you contact them by email: https://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispat...ageID=PCU_0002

From reading the vodafone forums it seems people on the £25 package can be migrated to a 500texts/150mins package.

I'm not sure that the Dot tariff was very good anyway. The £25 only got you 350 minutes maximum.

But with roll over minutes, that changes everything.

It's almost as good as PAYG... not quite, but almost.

Have you got a law degree? I'm in my final year of mine and I've studied contract law and I know that I have never signed a contract with Vodafone. I signed up to Dot, they just happend to use the Vodafone network. Dot were the company who supplied me my tariff and who collectd payments from me.

No, they are scum for the way they have treated the Dot customers. There was no communication of what tariff we were transferred on to and the customer service has been shocking.

then if you studied contract law then you would understand that specific features do not form a part of your airtime contract...

Hi Jack_bauer87

I can understand the confusion this move has caused. You can get in touch directly with us on our eForum or the Contact Us form (quoting the code FIT135 in the main body of the message).

We've got a pinned thread regarding the Dot Mobile which you may want to have a look at. I appreciate you're out of the UK at the moment, so if you can communicate over the internet with us, we can see what we can do to help.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Daz

Vodafone UK

Ladies & Gentlemen, I present you the Stereotypical student! See how they try to present their superiority and still manage to be wrong... I think you'll find BoBaDoB is quite right.

I realise you are disappointed with the situation but you clearly have a bad attitude.

Voda seems to have played fair with the Dot customers. See the story here.

Which barrack room was that you studied law in?

I think you'll find I was right hence me getting it cancelled successfully and I also think you'll find BoBaDoB is actually wrong but there you go, I'm sure we could argue about this all day.

And I appreciate the work the eforum guys do, they do actually seem really helpful, it's just a shame that the people on the other end of the telephone always seem to be incompetent.

Vodafone are not scum they are fine. Just cos you're pissed off with them doesnt make them scum. If you an adult grow up and act like one instead of coming on here throwing a tantrum.

I was only having such a rant because at the time it was costing me an absolute fortune to be ringing them from over in the states and all I was getting in return was incompetent customer service.
