EPG data on BBCi channels

I don't know if anyone will get excited about this, but last night I noticed that the BBCi channel had EPG data...

See: http://humaxdisk.wikispaces.com/EPGdata

What does this mean? It means we might know what is showing and it allows us to setup timers...

Do you think this could be just for the period of the Olympics?

I think they are making an effort for the Olympics, yes. I've never seen data there before.

I don't mind if they only make an effort for the big events. I could have done with this during the World Cup, when the other games were being simultaneously shown interactively... then I could have scheduled them to record...

Would be handy for MotoGP extra as they never tell you which channel its on. I normally end up recording 301 and 302 together which can be a pain. I think I did once email the BBC asking them to add the listings to teletext.

Some of the stuff in the EPG has SR data too

I agree metadata and EPG data on these channel are most useful...

Hope you all give the BBC some feedback then! If you all do this, then you stand a very good chance of them repeating it for other events/sports.

In April there was a BBC site contact us detail stating that it was not possible to provide epg data for interactive channels and some woolly reasons why not. I can not find it now - (and yes - I am being cautious because the BBC site difficult to search and trawl through so the detail may still be there if I could find it).
The BBC site also said that any questions where they concidered the answer was contained in such details would not be replied to.

Don't get too excited. I've had a near 100% fail rateso far with the equestrian. Trying again tonight by editing the end times to kill AR.
