Do any of the Pan-Yan Pickle fans here remember that on the label it used to recommend mixing Pan-Yan with peanut butter for a sandwich filling?

It was absolutely disgusting!

I've never understood Peanut Butter and jam together either.
My youngest had a fad for it last year.
She bought American peanut butter and jelly then added jam.
I just couldn't watch her making or eating it.
Fair turned my stomach.

Peanut butter is only good for one thing, and that's making a satay sauce.

Oh, alright then

West African Peanut Chicken
Ingredients
1/2 cup peanut oil (or any cooking oil)
4 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
onions, chopped or minced
2 cloves of garlic
tin of chopped tomatoes or 4 cups pureed tomatoes or 3 c. tomato sauce and 1 c. water
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup water
a bay leaf
pepper
salt

Directions
Heat oil in a deep pot or deep frying pan. Add the chicken and fry on both sides until it is nicely browned. Remove the chicken and set aside.

Fry the onions, bay and garlic in the same pot. When onion is soft and starting to brown, stir in the peanut butter. It will mix in nicely once it heats up.
Add tomatoes water. Reduce heat and simmer for a few minutes.
Return chicken to the pot.
Add salt, and pepper to taste.
Simmer on low heat until the chicken is cooked.

Serve with rice, mash or potato wedges.

Many years ago we had a bakers opposite our shop. Ready made sandwiches were in their infancy and generally cheese and tomato or egg mayonnaise.

One day they came up with peanut butter and sliced tomato. Now being a peanut butter addict, I thought this was sacrilege, but eventually gave in and tried it.

FANTASTIC with just a very slight sprinkling of salt.

I can only eat peanut butter from a spoon straight out of the jar. I don't like it mixed with anything else not even bread.

I once tried a peanut butter and honey sandwich. It was nice, tasted a lot like a Snickers bar.
