Hi,

I cannot seem to get the HD surround formats from my PS3 using blu-ray discs into my Onkyo 606... I am missing something??

DD or DTS is the best I can get. I am connected to amp via HDMI.

Have you set the PS3 to output LPCM for BD & selected the HD track on the BD disc?

And from the discs I have - there are not that many that offer DTS-MA anyway.

Have you checked your BD are not just ordinary DD

Thanks for your help...

It seems the PS3 did need to be set to LPCM, and it decodes the signal itself, its a little confusing though, as the amplifier will not light up with the DTS-MA indicator, as it being recieved in LPCM.

Maybe Im getting old, I do this for a living, but it is getting more and more complicated this home a/v stuff. I have to be one step ahead of my customers!!

As advised set PS3 to LPCM then Onkyo > HDMI audio output to OFF. The DTS-MA should show on the amp.
