dvd to tv via rf socket?
Ok a longshot but i have a old tv with only the RF socket for an aerial no other sockets at all, i want to connect a dvd player to it is there a way of doing it?

All depends on the DVD player really. Some will let you connect them via RF to the TV, but many will only work with Scart sockets. Hope this helps...

Many thanks in advance The above link is just the first google item. A really cheap way is if you have an old video recorder, you can use that. |

I just bought a Philips DVP 3120 from asda and when i opened it, it never had the out socket so i could connect via an RF cable.

Thanks to Sat.Deelay and Bobcar as im not home yet i have had a thought i have a Humax satellite receiver which has rf in/out and two scart sockets could i link the dvd player to that? as i have no vhs recorder.

The humax would probably work as long as one of the scart sockets can be used as a input (you may need to adjust the setup on the dvd output socket & the humax input scart socket so they are set to the same video type (e.g composite,rgb,s-video)) and the humax outputs on a rf channel. This will work ok for uk (pal) discs. If the dvd player is multi region and you want to play american region 1 (ntsc) you may find that you just get a black & white or rolling picture.
