Following his second stroke this weekend it is looking more likely that this will be his last appearance.

So let us all tune in

Jim is a great EE character and I hope he will make a return

So is Jim a racist like in his first appearance or a non-racist like his second? - can't keep up with EE character changes.

Can't say I'll be watching. It'll take a lot more to get me interested again. Stopped watching about 3 or 4 weeks ago and the *only* thing that springs to mind that would get me watching again is the return of one or all of the following: 'Chelle, The Sharon, Lynn Slater, Sonia at a push...

Although will probably tune in to see Sean bleeding Slater get it. What a god-awful, badly acted character....

Because he's had a stroke!!!

I think it's really sad. He reminds me of my grandad.

I think he was being really unfair with Max, at least he made an effort. What happened between them anyway?

Before calling someone an idiot, i think you need to realise it's insensitive.

Wonderful to see John back, such a shame after his latest setback.

Keep on smiling John and the world will smile with you. Tonight was a triumph.

id say "stunningly ignorant" would be more apt than "insensitive"

From www.mirror.co.uk
Eastenders star John Bardon is back in hospital - just over a year after suffering a massive stroke.

John, 68 - who plays Dot's husband Jim Branning in the BBC1 soap - was admitted to a London hospital on Friday night.

Sources close to the actor say he is suffering from "continued ill health" but has not suffered another stroke.

oh good! obviously still not a good thing, contuing bad health and everything, but at least theres maybe a chance he can return to the role down the line at some point, when hes better.
