All of the new Panasonic 32" models are now full HD and start from around £600+. See here

However, there are still a lot of older models out there and most are really good TVs and are cheaper. See here

I have experience with the first one and I can tell you that it is a superb TV. I would expect the cheaper one to be the same as except from the LMD models which were average, I have never seen a poor Panasonic picture

No probs - good choice of TV

If I was purchasing I would try and afford the extra to get the newer model as after asking around the picture is better - don't get me wrong they are both good but the newer model seems to have better blacks, more vibrant colours and better response. If you're into online shopping you can save some money on this model by buying here

The Panasonic sets are not all FullHD. The lxd range is High Def with 1080p signal input. The LZD range is a FullHD panel with 1080p input. The 80's are normal refresh rate, the 85's are 100hz refresh rate.

What about this for £399. A slightly older model, hence the lower price, but I've got the 26" version and found it to be absolutely great.

The LXD models are not the new models I was mentioning. The LXDs have been around a while now

At 32", the 100Hz is not really nessasary as you can hardly tell the difference, especially with the normal 50Hz Panasonics which have a good refresh rate.

The picture on the LMD models is no where near as good as the newer models as the technology in them is old. At 26" the picture is pretty good but with the older technology and a lower quality screen, when you reach 32" the picture suffers a lot.

81 is also 100hz as well as having some very nice other spec, 30,000:1 native contrast? 1,000,000:1 dynamic (doubt you'd ever get it though) FullHD panel with 1080p/24p

Intelligent frame creation looks insane for animated films, but has a speed up effect on "liveaction" films

The 81 is not an LCD or 32". The LXD80/85 are brand new sets as are the LZD80/85. I was just trying to clear up the statement that "All of the new Panasonic 32" models are now full HD "
An LZD81 will be around probably in October in either 32 or 37".

If the LXD are new as well, how come they have been in my local retailer since November/December and listed on Panasonic website from around the same time when the LZDs were not until March/April time?

Therefore the newer models are the LZDs. I am not saying that the LXDs are old stock as they are still in production and widely available but are older than the LXDs

snap (ish)

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=872116

ill prob go for the cheaper one (£400ish) as 1080p on a 32' isnt really a big difference, certainly not worth spending £150 extra on - oh and on amazon i saw a tosh 32' tv for £365 sold by amazon (wait 1-2 months though!)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-32AV...8580750&sr=8-1 (under 'more buying options')

so if thats in stock, (£130 cheaper than the pany i want) ill go for that i think! v. cheap atmo

The lxd70/700 series was available last year the 80/85 is this years range and came out in April/may time. Last year Panasonic did not have FullHD 32" at all.
The 80/85/800 are all the 2008 models as are the lxd and lzd. They just cater for different features.
